Arsenal's Moroccan striker Marouane Chamakh is on the verge of joining Serie A side Fiorentina after the the 28-year-old got their offer.

"Fiorentina requested information on his availability and made an offer," Wenger said in The Times.

The international striker, who joined Arsenal in the summer of 2010 from French side Bordeaux on a free transfer, scored only one goal in all competitions with Arsenal the last season.

Arsenal's manager revealed later that he is open to moving the forward on, since the club hired german striker Lukas Podolski.
