Masina was stretchered off during his side's 1-0 win over Fiorentina in a Serie A game earlier this week and scans revealed that he has ruptured an interior cruciate ligament in his knee.
The 28-year-old, who is Morocco's first choice on the left flank, will now miss the World Cup, which will take place in Qatar in November.
Masina joined Udinese last summer from English Premier League side Watford.
He has played 16 matches for Morocco since making his debut with the Atlas Lions in March 2021.
Masina is Morocco's second player to miss the World Cup after Genk winger Tarik Tissoudali, who will be not available for the same reason.
Morocco, who will make their sixth appearances in the World Cup, were drawn in Group F along with Belgium, Croatia and Canada.
