Bayern Munich's Senegalese forward Sadio Mane said on Monday that he was aware of the challenges he would being facing after switching from the Premier League to the Bundesliga.

The 30-year-old joined Bayern Munich after spending eight years at the Premier League (two with Southampton and six with Liverpool).

The Senegalese international made a good start, scoring three goals in his first three games with Bayern Munich, but he failed to score in four consecutive games before finding the net again on Friday when his side thrashed Bayer Leverkusen 4-0 in a Bundesliga game.

He scored six goals in 12 appearances with Bayern in all fronts.

“It is going well. Switching from one club to another is not easy,” Mane told UEFA official website on Monday.

“I spent eight very nice years in England, six years at Liverpool [after] two at Southampton, and now I am in a new country.”

“It is not easy because everything changes so suddenly: people, training, everything.

“Everything is changing so it is not easy at all. I need to adapt. I knew that and it came as no surprise.

“It is happening just the way I imagined it. People here are welcoming, and they're real players. People around the club are amazing so I am very happy,” he concluded.

Mane is set to lead the Senegal squad in next month’s World Cup in Qatar.
