Ghana and Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari has confirmed he will be available for the Black Stars at the 2013 African Cup of Nations.

The 27-year-old underwent surgery on a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament last month and doctors ruled him out of action for six months.

It was feared he would not be back to fitness before the tournaments starts on 19 January but the player is confident he will be recovered in time.

“I will definitely return in 2012,” Muntari was quoted as saying by Ghanasoccernet.

Muntari joined Milan on loan from arch-rivals Inter in January. He made a fine impact with Milan, putting in some consistent displays and scoring three goals in 13 Serie A games.

AC Milan eventually finished runners-up to champions Juventus.
