Ghana and Berekum Chelsea striker Emmanuel Clottey has become a target for Italy's AS Roma, who are stepping up their interest in signing him during the summer transfer window, Ghanasoccernet reports.
The Italian side AS Roma is reported to have offered 3 million British pounds to sign the Berekum Chelsea ace.
The 24-year-old attacker has performed well in the CAF Champions League this season, scoring 11 goals to emerge as the tournaments leading marksman and brining him within touching distance of equalling Stephen Worghu’s 13-goal haul in 2007.
Earlier this week Berekum Chelsea coach Hans van der Pluijm said the side had no intention of selling Clottey.
DR Congo champions TP Mazembe have expressed interest in hiring the player after Egyptian giants Ahly and Saudi side Al Ettihad both eyed the Ghanaian international.
Clottey scored a hat-trick in the group B opener against Zamalek, helping his team to a difficult 3-2 win. He also peformed well against TP Mazembe, helping his side come from behind to draw 2-2 in Lubumbashi last week.
