The announcement was made on Sunday, a week after his official departure from Saudi club Al-Ahli.
According to a statement on the UAE-based club's official website, "Al Wahda football company has concluded the deal of signing coach Pitso Mosimane to replace Dutch coach Arno Buitenweg in leading the club’s senior team."
The 58-year-old South African coach made a name for himself in Saudi Arabia, leading Al-Ahli to promotion back to the Saudi Pro League and winning the First Division League title.
Prior to his stint in Saudi Arabia, Mosimane was the coach of South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns.
He left the Egyptian giants Ahly after a successful 20-month period, during which he collected six titles, including back-to-back Champions League trophies.
The UAE-based club did not disclose any details regarding the contract of the South African tactician.
Al Wahda finished third in the UAE Professionals League last season with 52 points, only five points behind champions Shabab Al Ahli.
