In Group G, Mali claimed a 2-0 away win over Congo to top the group with 12 points, three points ahead of second-placed Gambia.

Meanwhile, Cape Verde defeated Burkina Faso 3-1 at home to join the Stallions in the continental competition.

With one game remaining, both sides have ten points, five behind third-placed Togo.

In Group E, four-time African champions Ghana failed to secure an early ticket for the Nations Cup after a disappointing goalless draw with bottom side Madagascar.

The Black Stars are at the top of the group with nine points, just one point ahead of second-placed Angola and two behind third-placed Central African Republic.

The final round of the qualifiers will see Ghana host Central African Republic in September, while Angola will have an easy task as they host Madagascar.

In Group L Mozambique defeated Rwanda 2-0 away from home to keep their hopes alive in the continental qualifiers.

Meanwhile, already qualified Algeria maintained their perfect run in the qualifiers after claiming a 2-1 away win over Uganda to claim their fifth successive win.

They top Group F with maximum 15 points.
