“The club's board accepted Chaabani's and his assistant Magdy Traore's request to leave,” read a statement released by the club on Monday.
The statement expressed gratitude for their efforts with the club.
In the interim, sports director Tarek Thabet will take charge of the team until a new coach is appointed.
Esperance de Tunis secured their place in the CAF Champions League group stage with a 1-0 aggregate win over Douanes Ouagadougou of Burkina Faso on Saturday.
Chaabani was appointed as the coach of Esperance in May, following his departure from the Egyptian side Ceramica Cleopatra.
He had also taken charge of another Egyptian side, Masry, in September 2021, but left the club eight months later.
Chaabani had previously achieved success with Esperance, winning the CAF Champions League twice in 2017 and 2018.
