"Percy Tau has been released from camp due to family reasons and Kaizer Chiefs' Mduduzi Mdantsane takes his place in camp," coach Hugo Broos was quoted as saying on the South African Football Association website.
Bafana Bafana are scheduled to play Eswatini on Friday and Cote d'Ivoire on 17 October.
Tau, one of Bafana Bafana's most important players, is in fine form, scoring four goals in two matches for Ahly in the Egyptian premier league. His absence is a major blow to Broos, who will be hoping the rest of his squad can step up.
