The move comes as a response to the suspension of the Sudanese league and is seen as a bid to maintain competitive play for the team and its players.

Al-Hilal, one of Sudan’s most prominent clubs, said in a statement that the Tanzanian Football Federation had initially agreed to include them in their top tier.

The 18-time Sudanese champions had reached out to several African federations seeking a temporary new home as the situation in Sudan has left the local league in limbo.

The Sudanese league has been on hold due to the ongoing conflict in the country, which has affected all aspects of life, including sports. Several other Sudanese clubs are reportedly exploring similar options as they look to neighbouring countries’ leagues to continue their football activities.

This development is being closely watched by football authorities and clubs around the world, as it may set a precedent for other teams facing similar disruptions.
