A total of 48 nations, including the four winners from the preliminary round (Chad, Eswatini, Liberia, and South Sudan), will be drawn into 12 groups of four teams each to compete for berths in the finals.

Reigning champions Cote d'Ivoire will headline the draw alongside fellow African powerhouses Algeria, Egypt, Nigeria, Senegal, and Cameroon.

The CAF revealed that the qualifiers are set to kick off in September to determine the first 24 nations that will compete in the 35th edition of Africa's biggest tournament.

Selected CAF legends, representatives of the participating teams, and members of the Local Organizing Committee for the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025, among others, will attend the draw ceremony, the CAF said.

The previous edition of the AFCON (2023) was hosted by Cote d'Ivoire, where the Elephants emerged victorious on home soil, claiming their third continental title.
