The Black stars continued their disappointment, extending their winless streak to three games.
They opened their qualifying campaign with a 1-0 loss at home to Angola before playing out a 1-1 draw with Niger.
The four-time African champions currently occupy the third spot in the group, having garnered only two points from three matches.
Group leaders Angola, boasting a perfect six points, are scheduled to host the group's bottom team, Niger, on Friday.
On the other DR Congo extended their winning streak in the qualifiers by overcoming Tanzania 1-0 at home, propelling them to the top of Group H with a maximum nine points.
Tanzania's defender Cement Mzize inadvertently scored an own goal in the 54th minute, contributing to DR Congo's victory.
Earlier in the day, Zimbabwe secured their first win in the qualifiers in Group J by defeating Namibia 1-0 on the road.
Veteran winger Khama Billiat scored the winning goal from the penalty spot in the 34th minute.
Zimbabwe now lead the group with five points, closely followed by Cameroon and Kenya, who are set to clash in Yaoundé on Friday.
