D.C. United midfielder Boris Enow netted the winner in the 63rd minute, propelling his team to the tournament in Morocco.

With two games remaining in the qualifiers, the Indomitable Lions currently lead Group J with ten points, holding a five-point lead over second-placed Zimbabwe, who will face bottom side Namibia (without any points) later on Monday.

While Kenya sit in third place with four points, Cameroon hold a superior head-to-head record, having previously defeated Kenya 4-1 in the earlier round in Yaoundé on Friday.

Cameroon boast five continental titles, trailing Egypt who holds a record of seven titles.

Their most recent victory was in 2017 in Gabon when they overcame the Pharaohs with a 2-1win.

Burkina Faso have already secured a place in next year's Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday after leading Group L.

The top two teams from the various groups in the Nations Cup qualifiers will advance to the continental competition.
