Ghana will do without Udinese midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu in the game against Malawi in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier because of a knee injury.

“A knee injury he suffered while playing for his Italian club in the Europa League on Thursday means he will not be available for the Black Stars for the game,” read a statement on Ghana FA official website.

The Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah has called up Parma midfielder Afriyie Acquah to replace the injured player.

The Ghana's FA also revealed that the 21-year-old Agyemang-Badu is a key player for the Black Stars and his absence will affect the squad ahead of the crucial game.

Ghana are scheduled to face Malawi in the final qualifiers of the 2013 African Cup of Nations on 13 October.
