In contrast, Tunisian side Etoile Sportive du Sahel suffered a 2-0 defeat away to Kenya’s Nairobi United in Nairobi on Sunday.

The two-time Confederation Cup winners face a tough challenge at home next week as they attempt to overturn the deficit in Sousse.

Elsewhere, Congolese club Otoho d’Oyo claimed a 1-0 away win over Mozambique’s Ferroviário Maputo, while Burundi’s Flambeau du Centre played out a 1-1 draw with Tanzania’s Singida Black Stars.
