Zabiri, made headlines last month after leading Morocco to their first-ever U-20 World Cup title, finishing as the tournament’s top scorer with five goals.
The striker has yet to make his senior debut, but said he would welcome a call-up from coach Walid Regragui as Morocco prepare to host the Nations Cup from 21 December to 18 January.
“Is there anyone who doesn’t dream of playing the AFCON in their own country? It’s huge. We want to win it,” Zabiri told Spanish newspaper AS on Monday.
“Honestly, I feel ready, but call-ups depend on Coach Regragui. If I’m not there, I’ll support the national team with all my heart. What matters most is Morocco lifting the trophy.”
Zabiri has made five league appearances for the Portuguese side this season but has yet to score or provide an assist.
