Few days after Cameroon's elimination for next year's African Cup of Nations qualifiers, Cameroon' sacked coach Denis Lavagne criticised his successor Jean Paul Akono, describing him as 'incapable' of holding the post.

The French coach was fired from his post, one month ago, after cameroon' surprising loss 2-0 to minnow Cap Verde in the first leg of the African Cup of Nations qualifiers, but his successor Jean Paul Akono failed to guide the Indomitable Lions to reach the Nations Cup after their insufficient 2-1 win in the second leg and the Cap Verde reached the Nations Cup for the first time in their history following to 3-2 win on aggregate.

"Akono didn't work as coach since he was fired from his post as Chad's coach ten years ago," Lavagne told French magazine SoFoot on Thursday.

''He spent all these ten years on making matches analysis to the TV channels and the Radio but as a coach he is incapable."

"I saw the game against Cap Verde in the second leg. I had the impression that it was a jubilee match not a crucial game in the African qualifiers. I believed Webo, Makoun, Womé and Idrissou should have left the national team after the 2010 world Cup, that 's why I am not surprised about the match result.'' He added.

The French coach also said skipper Samuel Eto'o acts more than a player.

"I cannot make a good judgment concerning team' skipper Samuel Eto'o as he played with me two games only."

"But the fact is since he took the team's captaincy, Cameroon fall from the 20th in the FIFA ranking to the 70th place, which means there is something wrong.''

"In the dressing room of Cameroon Eto'o decides whose talk and whose doesn't which was completely inacceptable." Lavangne concluded.
