Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure announced that he will miss former-teammate Didier Drogba as The Elephants face Gambia in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers on Saturday.
“I don’t feel so happy because Drogba is absent from the fold,” Toure said.
African Footballer of the Year Yaya Toure denied reports that he and Didier Drogba have not been on good terms.
“Drogba is a weapon of mass destruction to any team and defence. We still need his services in the outfit,” he added.
“People are saying what they don’t know. Do you know Drogba has been my career adviser? He has contributed to making the choice for all the clubs I have played for.”
Galatasaray forward Drogba is expected to return to The Elephants squad in July.
The Elephants are scheduled to face Gambia in Banjul in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers on Saturday.
