Morocco national team Belgian coach Eric Gerets has recalled ten home based players in the Atlas Lions squad for the clash against Algeria in the African Cup of Nations on March 27 in Annaba

Algeria's national side will host their Arab and African neighbours Morocco in the third round of the African Cup of Nations, Group D.

Algerian coach Abdelhak Benchikha backed his players to get the upper hand of the game against Morocco and gain the match’s points by revealing that he admires the Moroccan team and their coach but he will concentrate on the victory.

“I respect Belgian coach Eric Gerets but he should leave the points of the game in Annaba,” Benchikha said in a press conference on Wednesday.

The Moroccan side will do without Ajax Amsterdam striker Mounir El-Hamdaoui following disagreement with the Dutch national football league side.

Visitors will arrive in Annaba on 25 March to kick off their preparation two days before the crucial match.

Morocco are second in Group D of the African Cup of nations with four points, three points ahead of Algeria who have a single point and sit at the bottom of the group.
