Sudanese outfit El-Merreikh claimed their fourth victory with their new Egyptian tactician Hossam El-Badry by defeating Angolan champions InterClube 2-0 in the first leg of CAF Champions League.

The Sudanese giants dominated the encounter and shot into the lead on 16 minutes through InterClube defender Hanno who scored put past his own keeper.

The Angolan Champions had their fair share of the proceedings with their own chances on goal but failed to find an equalizer.

Four minutes from full-time, El-Merriekh forward Faisal Agab sealed the victory with a header to end the game with 2-0 for his side.

Egypt national team shot-stopper Essam El-Hadary guarded his goal with a good first half performance.

El-Badry, the former Ahly coach, achieved the fourth official victory for El-Merreikh since he took over as manager last December, following three wins in the Sudanese league.

The second leg will be staged in Angola in a fortnight.
