Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto’o admitted that he once had a tense relationship with Potuguese coach Jose Mourinho.

Eto’o was reunited with Mourinho after joining English side Chelsea from Russia’s Anzhi Makhachkala, having also played under him at Inter Milan from 2009 to 2011.

“Before meeting at Inter, we didn't know each other personally, so our relationship was tense. I even said one time that I'd never play for a club where Jose was coach,” the 32-year-old told The Sun newspaper on Friday.

“But God knows best. He wanted to show me that I was wrong and today Jose is a friend. Now he's my coach again.”

Under Mourinho, Eto’o won with Inter Milan an unprecedented treble in 2010 - the Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League titles.

He could make his Chelsea debut when his new side face Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.
