Senegal to play Ivory Coast World Cup playoffs out of the country

Senegal won't be allowed to play the second leg of its World Cup playoff tie against Ivory Coast at home because a ban on the Leopold Senghor stadium in Dakar still applies

The Confederation of African Football says Senegal will have to play its home leg outside the country.

CAF imposed a one-year ban on the stadium for a riot there last October, when Senegal was hosting Ivory Coast in an African Cup qualifier. The game was stopped in the second half with Ivory Coast leading 2-0. Senegal also was disqualified from the African Cup and fined.

Senegal and Ivory Coast meet for a place at the World Cup this time, with the first leg in Ivory Coast next month and the second in neutral territory in November.
