Algeria striker Hilal Soudani believes referee helped Burkina Faso to finish game with 3-2 win over North African side in World Cup playoff on Saturday

After losing 3-2 to Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou in the first leg of a World Cup Africa play-off, Algeria striker Hilal Soudani accused the referee with proffering the hosts during the game.

Aristide Bance converted a disputed late penalty to give Burkina Faso a 3-2 home win over Algeria Zambian assistant referee insisted Essaid Belkalem's ball, who appeared to have his arms behind his body when the ball struck him four minutes from time, was a hand-ball.

"We lost with a referee mistake while we played a superb game despite the loss," Soudani told a television programe after the game.

"We still have a chance to qualify for the World Cup in Brazil as we have a game in Algeria," he added.

Algeria host Burkina Faso on 19 November in the return match and the overall winners qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

"We will make use of Algerian support at home that will manage us to win and qualify." The Algeria striker concluded.
