Galatasaray are preparing to offer a contract extension to Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba, the club revealed on Monday.

The 35-year-old striker joined the Turkish club from Chinese outfit Shanghai Shenhua in January on an 18- month contract and helped them win the Super Lig title.

Club president Unal Aysal believes the former Chelsea striker is willing to stay at the club.

"Drogba has talked about his future and he will prolong his career as a player," Aysal was quoted as saying on Supersport.

"I told him he will play at Galatasaray as long as he is doing well. We’ll definitely come to offer him a new contract and I don’t think he will reject our proposal," he concluded.
