“We would like to make history like Maradona's team. It would be a dream,” the Algerian was quoted as saying on football-Italia.net.
Hassan Yebda has been a key figure in Napoli’s successful title chase, putting them at just three points behind leaders AC Milan.
The 26-year old made 23 appearances for the Partenopei, featuring eleven times in the starting XI.
“Milan and Inter are the favourites for victory in the Scudetto. But we are hopeful that they will draw on Saturday and that we can take points off both of them,” Yebda added.
Maradona edged Napoli to win their only Serie A Italian Championships in 1986/87 and 1989/1990, placing second in the league twice, in 1987/88 and 1988/89.
Napoli are very close to matching this performance and have a shot to clinch a Champions League slot for the first time since 1990.
“I feel the confidence of the coach and my teammates. Moreover, I also just scored a very important goal in the North African derby between Algeria and Morocco,” he concluded.
