Tunisian side Esperance Sportive de Tunis have officially signed Dutch coach Ruud Krol to lead the team during the coming competitions replacing French one Sebastien Desabre, the club announced.
"Esperance signed a 3-year contract with Krol to be in charge of the team," read a statement on the Tunisian side official website.
"The management will hold a press conference on Tuesday to introduce the new coach who will lead the first football team, while French Desabre will coach the youth team," the statement added.
The 64-year-old tactician Krol has a good experience in the Tunisian football as he was coaching CS Sfaxien last season as he managed to lead the Tunisian club to African Confederation Cup glory.
Krol also served as caretaker coach for the Tunisian national side when they took on Cameroon in a World Cup qualifying play off. Cameroon won the tie 4-1 on aggregate.
The former defender, Krol captained the Netherlands at the 1978 World Cup, leading the side to a 3-1 final defeat against hosts Argentina.
Esperance are leading the Tunisian league teams' table with 31 points after 14 games, two points over arch rivals and runners up Club Africain.
