Everton striker Lacina Traore will see out his loan deal with the club despite facing two months on the sidelines, coach Roberto Martinez confirmed on Tuesday.
The Ivorian international striker joined Everton from French side Monaco on loan until the end of the season last month but a hamstring injury he picked up lately cast doubts over his fate at the English Premier League club.
However, Martinez is adamant the 23-year-old will not return to Monaco before the end of his loan stint.
"He should be back in the next seven to eight weeks so it's not the end of Lacina at Everton," Martinez was quoted as saying by Sky Sports on Tuesday.
"We're excited about that and he's delighted. He was in the dressing room devastated at Stamford Bridge after the warm-up.
"Now he wants to show he's ready to help the team and if he can participate in the last two or three weeks of the season it will be a major bonus."
