Barcelona's Cameroonian midfielder Alexandre Song said on Tuesday he will be looking to return to the English Premier League if he leaves Spanish giants Barcelona.

The Cameroonian international joined Barcelona from Arsenal in 2012 but he failed to establish himself as a regular starter with Barcelona, starting just nine games so far this season.

"If I leave Barcelona it will be to return to the Premier League," Song was quoted as saying by the Mirror on Tuesday.

"I will return to England one day, that's for sure."

The 26-year-old said he doesn't regret abandoning his key role at Arsenal, praising the Gunners' coach Arsene Wenger

"I wanted to renew my contract with Arsenal but in that case I would have regretted not joining Barcelona. Barcelona are the best side in the world," he added.

"He [Wenger] was like a father to me. He spoke a lot with me when I arrived at Arsenal."
