As the summer transfer window closes, Ahram Online looks at the top 10 deals of the European leagues

This summer transfer window has witnessed huge spending so far from European teams with the Spanish La Liga and English Premier League leading the race for signing new faces.

The top 10 transfer deals:

Angel Di Maria

Manchester United

The 25-year-old Argentinean forward joined Manchester United from Real Madrid for a reported £59.7 million fee.

 

Radamel Falcao

The 28-year-old Colombian forward has reportedly agreed to join Manchester United on a season-long loan from Monaco.

 

Xabi Alonso

The 32-year-old Spanish attacker joined Bayern Munich from Spain La Liga giants Real Madrid for a fee thought to be in the region of £8m.

 

Diego Costa

Chelsea

The 25-year-old Spanish striker joins Chelsea from Atletico Madrid for £32 million.

 

Luis Suarez

FC Barcelona

The 27-year-old Uruguayan striker joins Barcelona from Liverpool for a reported £75million fee.

 

Mario Balotelli

Liverpool

The 24-year-old Italian striker joins Liverpool from AC Milan for a reported £16 million fee.

 

Shinji Kagawa

Dortmund

The 25-year-old Japan forward rejoins his former club Borussia Dortmund from Manchester United for a reported fee of £6.3m on a four-year contract.

 

Fernando Torres

AC Milan

The 25-year-old Spanish striker joins AC Milan for two years on a loan from Chelsea without disclosing any financial details.

David Luiz

Paris St Germain

The 27-year-old Brazilian defender joins Paris St Germain from Chelsea for a fee of £50 million – a deal being called the world record transfer for a defender.
