AC Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi has called for a win against Empoli to help his side forget defeat against rivals Juventus which saw club owner Silvio Berlusconi depart before the final whistle.
Milan dropped their first points of the season in a 1-0 defeat at the San Siro on Saturday when Carlos Tevez struck a second-half winner for the champions.
A full league programme of matches is scheduled for Wednesday although Milan – who are not involved in European competition this campaign –will play a day earlier.
Empoli won promotion to the top flight as runners-up to Serie B champions Palermo and have garnered only one point from their opening three games.
Milan are tipped to take all three points in Tuscany, but Inzaghi said taking Maurizio Sarri's men for granted would be a mistake.
"It won't be easy against Empoli," Inzaghi said. "In fact it will be hard because Sarri's teams usually play well."
Former Milan striker Inzaghi was appointed to replace Clarence Seedorf when the Dutchman, who only took over the Milan reins in January, failed to lead the Rossoneri into Europe.
But he appears to have already fallen foul of Berlusconi, with reports claiming the club owner's advice to the fledgling Rossoneri coach fell on deaf ears.
Berlusconi got out of his seat and left the stadium immediately after Tevez struck in the 71st minute.
Reports on Monday cited a conversation between Berlusconi and a Milan fan who had suggested the club owner should turn up more often at the team's training sessions.
Berlusconi is reported to have replied: "Yes, but if they then don't do what I tell them ...." The 77-year-old is known for giving coaches of Milan advice on how the team should play.
Inzaghi refused to comment, telling reporters: "I don't want to comment on what was said. "We spoke by telephone, he (Berlusconi) is pleased with what we did, and positive.
"I'm now only thinking about Empoli."
A win for Milan, currently in fourth spot three points behind Roma, could send the Rossoneri back to the top of the table, at least for a day.
Juventus host promoted Cesena on Wednesday, with Roma, who also have nine points, away to Parma.
