Barcelona president Marc Bartomeu is preparing a £144 million move for Juventus midfield star Paul Pogba by the end of the season, according to Spanish reports.
Catalan-based publication Sport reported that incumbent chief Bartomeu is aiming the big-money swoop for the France star as part of his electoral presidential campaign.
Four-time European champions Barcelona, however, are expected to be facing tough competition from the likes of Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid – who are reportedly interested in securing Pogba's services as well.
Pogba, who was a member of France's squad in the Brazil World Cup finals last summer, has registered six goals and three assists in the Serie A so far this season.
It remains to be seen what will be the fate of the 21-year-old, as he is currently tied down to Italian champions Juventus until 2019.
