Karim Benzema has been the latest to join Real Madrid's ever-growing injury list after being ruled out of the Champions League last-eight return leg against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.
After missing out on the 3-1 La Liga win over Malaga last weekend, Benzema failed to recover completely from his knee injury, joining Gareth Bale and Luca Modric on the sidelines.
Bale was forced off the pitch against Malaga after playing just five minutes due to a calf problem and Modric sustained a season-ending knee ligament damage during the same match.
Benzema's injury leaves manager Carlo Ancelotti with minimal options upfront, as he now might turn to on-loan striker Javier Hernandez and midfielder Isco to partner Cristiano Ronaldo upfront.
Real Madrid played out a goalless draw with city rivals Atletico in the first leg at the Vicente Calderon Stadium last week.
