Al Sadd wins Asian Champions League on penalties

Qatari team Al Sadd lifted the 2011 Asian Champions League trophy on Saturday after a 4-2 penalty shootout victory over Jeonbuk Motors of South Korea at Jeonju World Cup Stadium

Goalkeeper Mohamed Saqr saved two penalties in the shootout to leave Nadir Belhadji to score the winning spot-kick after the game had finished 2-2.

Eninho put Jeonbuk ahead after 20 minutes with a curling free kick from outside the area. The lead lasted just 10 minutes as Jeonbuk defender Shim Woo-yeon headed a Kader Keita cross into the his own net from close range.

Keita scored what looked to be the decisive goal after 61 minutes but Lee Hyun-sung headed a last-minute equalizer to send the game into extra time. Jeonbuk hit the woodwork twice but was unable to add to the scoreline.
