Sub-zero temperatures around UK
Overnight temperatures of minus nine degrees brought a morning pitch inspection at Blackpool's Bloomfield Road. The field does not have undersoil heating.
Blackpool was due to play against Liverpool. Despite covers and hot-air blowers deployed over recent days, an assessment of the pitch showed there was no possibility of play.
The match has been rescheduled for 12 January with an 8pm kick-off.
It is the third home match in succession this month that Blackpool has had to postpone because of weather, having previously moved matches against Manchester United and Tottenham.
Everton's game against Birmingham at Goodison Park was also postponed because of freezing temperatures. The club reported there were "several miles of frozen pipes, many of which burst during the course of Christmas Day night".
Seven other Premier League games were set to go ahead, with the Arsenal against Chelsea clash scheduled for Monday.
