Barcelona striker David Villa has broken the tibia in his left leg during a game against Al-Sadd at the Club World Cup.

The Spanish club says on its website that the Spain striker has been taken to the hospital for tests.

Villa is Spain’s all-time leading scorer. Spain will look to defend its European Championship title next year.
