Burnley's long-serving midfielders Dean Marney and Scott Arfield will leave the Premier League side at the end of the season, the club have announced.

Marney is Burnley's second-longest serving player after joining the club in 2010 and the 34-year-old has made 221 appearances across all competitions. Arfield, 29, has made 193 appearances since joining the Clarets in 2013.

"We have to allow these lads the right and the chance to align their futures and honour the fact they've been fantastic servants to us, as well," manager Sean Dyche told Burnley's website https://www.burnleyfootballclub.com.

"They have been a massive part of what we've done here and fantastic servants of Burnley football club."

Marney is yet to play for the club this season following a knee injuries while Arfield featured 18 times in the league before sustaining a calf injury in February.

Burnley, who are seventh in the league, host Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.
