Police have arrested six men—widely reported to be footballers—on suspicion of sexual assault.
Sussex Police say five men from Brighton and one from Dorset were arrested Thursday and “will be questioned in relation to an alleged sexual assault on a woman in July last year.”
Police would not comment upon the identities of the men but British media said five play for Brighton in England’s second-tier League Championship and the other is a footballer with third-tier side Bournemouth.
Police said the men were aged between 18 and 24.
