AFC general secretary Alex Soosay says official reports from its match commissioner and referee “indicate nothing.”
Bahrain’s win raised suspicion because it trailed Qatar by three points and nine goals in group standings. Qatar drew 2-2 in Iran to advance instead.
Soosay says he’s “confident that none of our teams are involved” in match-fixing, and Bahrain was better “tactically and technically.”
