AC Milan's youngster Stephan El-Shaarawy will not be joining English Premier League giants Arsenal this summer, his agent said in response to recent claims that the Italian-Egyptian forward will be moving.
El-Shaarawy, an Italian under-21 international of Egyptian origins, joined the Rossoneri last summer from Genoa, and despite being only 19 years old, quickly established himself as one of the key elements at San Siro.
The talented hitman made his first UEFA Champions League appearance with Milan against Arsenal on 6 March, and recent reports claimed that the coach of the London-based club, Arsene Wenger, is keen on getting his services.
"Arsenal were watching him before his arrival in Milan," agent Roberto La Florio was quoted as saying by Skysports.
"But the Rossoneri have signed him and will not be letting him go. He would also be happy to stay at Milan," added La Florio.
El-Shaarawy, the 2011 Serie B’s player of the year, stressed recently that he would rather play for the Italian national football team at the international level than play for former African champions Egypt.
