After the 3-1 win over Sporting Gijon in the Spanish La Liga on Saturday, Real Madrid left back Marcelo da Silva claimed that he and his teammates struggled a lot during the difficult match.

"It was another difficult game and it was hard for us to pull through, but we did it in the end. We have to win the remaining games come what may, and they'll all be hard," Marcelo was quoted as saying on the club's official website.

"We have many forwards capable of scoring several goals and we want more. Cristiano has no limits and we have to take advantage of all the strikes he nets for us. The team is strong, both physically and mentally."

"We must only think about our Munich match now. We're in good form, but the match will be difficult and tough. We'll do our best to win in Munich. Real Madrid are favourites in every championship and in every game, but we will be humble in order to earn a victory."

Striker Gonzalo Higuain who scored the opening goal for Real Madrid at Gijon believes that La Liga title is at stake, so he pledges his teammates to win the remaining five games and consider them as finals.

"Five finals remain and we must win them come what may. The league title is at stake and we must remain calm to win every game. That's all we think about," Higuain said.

"It was a complicated match. We knew Sporting would make it difficult for us and that they would defend as best as they possibly could. We worked hard for a victory and we're happy. We must now think about the Champions League and Bayern Munich."

"We all work at this, those on the pitch and on the bench alike. You score one day and others it's a teammate. The important thing is to be united and win the titles at stake."

Real Madrid have been drawn to face German giants Bayern Munch in the semifinals of the European Champions League.

"Bayern Munich are a tough opponent in a tie preceding the final we all want to play. We'll rest in order to prepare well."

Taking a victorious attitude, on the other hand, is Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos, who asked his teammates to enjoy the victory over Sporting Gijon. He sees his team continues to collect points to remain in the driving seat of La Liga table.

"We looked for a win from the very first minute. It was difficult to have chances against Sporting because they had a tight defence. We were even more motivated to score once we were behind on the scoreboard. What matters is we continue to take points. We must now enjoy this victory."  Ramos said.

"The team reacted. Their goal motivated us even more. We don't need to be behind on the scoreboard for this to happen, but the important thing is we knew how to react."

"We only think of ourselves. There are five finals left and Barcelona are proving to be one of the best teams in the world and continue to put pressure on us. We must take things slowly, enjoy this win and prepare to face Bayern Munich, who are a great team."

Real Madrid top the Spanish La Liga table with 85 points, four over arch-rivals and runners-up Barcelona.
