"We’re thrilled to welcome Marwan Serry – Egyptian YouTuber, creative entrepreneur, and founder of the popular Erza3 football channel – to the Dagenham & Redbridge FC ownership group alongside Club Underdog," the club announced via Instagram.
Serry, 31, is known for his football-related content, boasting more than 2 million subscribers on YouTube and a total reach of over 5 million across social media platforms. His coverage focuses on British football, particularly outside the Premier League.
"Football’s how I’ve connected with people my whole life," Serry said in a statement.
"I’m lucky to join a club with real character and potential. I’m here to contribute and be part of something meaningful," he added.
The club also announced the appointment of another Egyptian content creator, Salma Mashhour, as Director of Development and Engagement.
Mashhour is an Arabic-language storyteller and YouTuber who has been influential in highlighting the broader appeal of English lower-league football to Arab audiences.
"To be heard in football, women often have to go the extra mile – and I did," she said. "What resonates with Arab fans isn’t just the Premier League. It’s the pyramid behind it."
Mashhour’s content was a key influence on Serry’s interest in lower-league football.
"Joining this club is about reaching new fans and telling our story to the world," she said. "I’m especially excited to connect with the local community."
The club said the new additions aim to grow its fanbase, particularly in the Arab world, and spotlight the often-overlooked stories of English non-league football.
Serry’s breakout moment came in August 2020, when his reaction video to Barcelona’s 8-2 loss to Bayern Munich went viral, drawing more than 1 million views.
