Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho is pleased with his team's first win out of Spain during the ongoing season in the Champions league, praising the players' performance in the 4-1 win over Ajax Amsterdam in Champions League Group D on Wednesday.

"I really enjoyed the way my team played, for 75 minutes I really enjoyed it," Mourinho was quoted as saying on the club's official website.

"We played against a different Ajax to usual, with a different philosophy, more defensive, and I think we played very well," he added.

The Meringues won two games in the Champions League Group Stage as they defeated Manchester City 3-2 before the 4-1 win over Ajax Amsterdam.

"These two victories give us some room to be calm which is the most important thing."

Cristiano Ronaldo who scored three goals on Wednesday, believes he and his teammates played a good match and they deserve the victory.

"We have played a good match in all aspects and we're happy," Ronaldo said.

"It is very important for me to score goals, but the most important thing is the team"

Real Madrid central midfielder Xabi Alonso announced that his team is in good form after snatching six points in the group stage.

“We wanted six points from the first two matches; we are in good form” Alonso said.

“We have had a good start in the Champions League. We are happy with the result and with the match. The important thing was to take three points and we did that”.
