Real Madrid forward player Cristiano Ronaldo said on Monday that he was eager to remain at the Spanish giants.

"I want to see out my contract at Real Madrid," Ronaldo was quoted as saying on the international governing body of football FIFA.

"I’m very clear about that. After that, well, I don’t know what’ll happen in the future," he said.

Early last December, the Portuguese star told the Spanish giants' management that he won't sign a new contract as he still upset about a professional matter with the Royal Club.

The 27-year-old forward, whose deal runs out in 2015, refused to celebrate after his first two La Liga goals of the season during Real Madrid’s 3-0 win over Granada, confirming his upset with the club.

"I didn't celebrate the goals because I'm upset. It's about a professional matter and the club knows what it is,” Ronaldo said at the time before insisting that he was “not going to say anymore on the subject.”

Spanish newspaper AS revealed that Ronaldo will refuse a contract extension prepared for next summer as he believes his issue will not be resolved with money and that the club will do nothing to recover his happiness except for offering more money.

The 2008 world's best player recently lost the award after competing with Barcelona star Lionel Messi for the third time.

Ronaldo helped Real Madrid win the league title last season for the first time since 2008, ending the dominance of archrivals Barcelona.
