Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo revealed that he and his teammates did their best during the 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid in the 7th matchday of the Spain La Liga on Saturday, believing coach Carlo Ancelotti did a great job.
"When things go wrong it is easy to lift your arms and blame teammates, but that's not what I saw on the field," Ronaldo was quoted as saying on Real Madrid official website after the loss to Atletico Madrid.
"We have to keep working and be united," he added.
The 28-year-old striker praised the Royal club's new coach Carlo Ancelotti throughout the game.
"The coach is doing a great job, he is one of the best coaches I've had in my career and we are very happy with him," Ronaldo said.
"The players are to blame and we have to hold our heads up. We don’t need to make a big drama out of it, we have to keep working hard because we have lots of things to win this year,"
The Portuguese star asked the team's players to be united as they lots of things to win this year.
"Maybe we are not on top form but we are not doing badly. Perhaps we have things to change. We have to keep working calmly,"

Meanwhile, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti asked the players to forget the loss and concentrate on the coming games.
"We have to think about fixing the problem quickly. When the ball arrives up front, we do not have space to find a positive solution. Against well-organised defences, if you play slow, it is harder," Ancelotti said.
Real Madrid are third in the Spain La Liga teams' table with 16 points after seven games as they drew with Villarreal before Saturday's 1-0 loss to rivals Atletico Madrid.
