The expected summer transfer of Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski to rivals Bayern Munich moved a step closer Saturday after the Poland star reportedly underwent a medical check in Munich.
Lewandowski's contract with Dortmund runs out at the end of season when he can then move to another club for free but the 25-year-old has only been able to sign a pre-contract deal since January 1.
Real Madrid are also reportedly interested in securing Lewandowski's signature but the forward, who signed for Dortmund from Lech Poznan for 4.5 million euros in 2010, seems to have his hear set on playing for the German champions next season.
Lewandowski appeared set to move to Bayern last summer but the deal collapsed when Dortmund reportedly demanded a transfer fee in the region of 25 million euros even though he only had one year remaining on his contract.
