France legend Zinedine Zidane believes it would be a 'big shame' if Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard did not win a Premier League title after all that he has given the Reds throughout his career, according to the Daily Mail.
With Liverpool leading the league table with six games to go, Brendan Rodgers' men look in pole position to secure a trophy that has been evading them since 1990.
"He has had a great career winning many things - but it would be a big shame for him if he was never to win the league with Liverpool," Real Madrid assistant coach Zidane said.
"For everything that he has given - he deserves a league title.
"He could have played for any team in Europe, but he turned them down. That sort of loyalty should be rewarded with a title."
Liverpool's title-winning chances have been increased following their stunning 3-2 victory over title-hopefuls Manchester City, who were then held by Sunderland 2-2, but Manuel Pellegrini's men still have a game in hand.
England captain Gerrard, who turns 34 in May, has never plied his trade at a club other than Liverpool, turning down a host of offers during a 16-year career at Anfield.
