American boxing promoter Don King arrived in Egypt on Tuesday and said he hopes he will be able to organise a fight in Cairo between WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne and American boxer Deontay Wilder.
The 82-year-old, who visited the Giza Pyramids on Wednesday, said he wants to hold the fight "in the shadows of the Pyramids and it’s going to be called King of the Nile," according to British newspaper The Guardian.
The Guardian said Don King plans to speak to Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to convince him to bankroll the fight in a bid to "restore confidence in the country’s battered tourism industry."
King has promoted some boxing icons, including Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson.
