"The deal was done an hour before this race," Jukka Harkonen told a news conference after the South African finished third at the Bislett games in Oslo.
She said she was happy with her race, despite struggling for power over the final 150 metres.
"I felt some sort of lactic thing with about 110 metres to go so I didn't push it. I'm happy with the time, it's my best this year. Now I just have to go home and work on my mistakes," Semenya told Reuters.
