The African volleyball champions Ahly will kick-off their Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship bid against Paykan Tehran VC of Iran 27 October.

The FIVB released the schedule of the 2015 Brazil edition of the prestigious six-club tournament early Thursday.

Pool A merged hosts Sada Cruzeiro, Zenit Kazan of Russia and Arecibo Capitanes Club of Puerto Rico, while Paykan Tehran VC of Iran, Ahly Sporting Club of Egypt and UPCN San Juan of Argentina are in Pool B.

"The three teams in each pool will play each other in a Round Robin system, followed by the semifinals and finals," the FIVB announced.

The CAVB Champion Ahly will play UPCN San Juan on 28 October, two days ahead of the semifinals.

On the national level, Egypt, who won six successive African championships, finished 10th in the 12-team World Cup tournament that took place in Japan, while the USA clinched the title and made it to the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, alongside Italy.
