Egypt's world number one squash hero Mohamed El-Shorbagy has revived hopes of winning the 2015 Squash Qatar Classic tournament defeating Hong Kong’s number one Max Lee 3-0 in 36 minutes.

El-Shorbagy's compatriot Mazen Hashem also went through with a 3-0 win over fellow Egyptian Ali Farag in 42 minutes. 

Egypt could have had three representatives in the semis but Karim Abdel Gawad lost to Frenchman Gregory Gaultier 3-2 after putting in a brave fight. 

“I think maybe I lost my concentration a little bit in the first game and made a few errors so I was happy I was able to come back quickly and recover because he could have taken those first two games and the match could have been a lot tougher than it was,” said El-Shorbagy, three-time world championship finalist and the winner of the 2013 title.

In the women's context, Omneya Abdel-Kawy made it to the semis defeating powerful Indian Joshana Chinappa who ousted world number one Egyptian Raneem El Welily in the first round.

Nouran Gohar lost against England's Laura Massaro while Nour El Sherbini also made it to the semis after beating Camille Serme 3-1.
